I am an eager, passionate, and caring therapist who is dedicated to serving children and adolescents. I am working under the supervision of Lisa Ibekwe, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, as I work towards becoming a fully Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been in the Counseling field since 2016 and have experience with providing counseling services to at-risk youth. I graduated from Fort Valley State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. I obtained my Master’s in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling at Fort Valley State University.
I began my Counseling career working with youth involved with the Department of Juvenile Justice. Then I transitioned into working with children in Foster Care. I have also provided Career Counseling to individuals experiencing Mental Health Disorders. I have worked with children and adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Physical Disabilities, Depression, Anxiety, and Trauma.
I work from an expressive arts therapy approach and a strength-based approach where I merge the two to help youth transform the undesirable components of themselves into strengths that they can use in building healthy relationships. I incorporate expressive therapies to help youth openly communicate their thoughts and feelings in therapy, which further aims to improve their communication skills, social skills, and overall mental health. I am very passionate about helping children and adolescents talk about difficult issues they are dealing with or afraid to discuss. My goal is to provide a comfortable environment with a smiling face, caring heart, and listening ear as we work towards healing.
